Shadow Shot Sunday #165

This little fella has been around for as long as I can remember! He was always around at home when I was growing up, and I inherited him about a year ago. He has a friend (a fish; that's his shadow you can see at the bottom left of the photo), and they sit on the window sill at the bottom of the stairs. So, when the sun shines this is what happens..........

This is a Shadow Shot Sunday post

  2. When the sun shines, the fire within him blazes!

    TALKING SHADOWS?

    Imagine a shadow could talk
    In whisper or rumble or squawk;
    Just what would it say
    To make you go, “Hey!
You’re just a chip off the old block!”?

  3. Now, that's a nice little thing to have on any window sill. Great that it's been in your life so long, too.

  4. What a creative photo...love the golden glow the shadow makes. I love these kinds of little 'inherited' trinkets. They bring back fond memories of growing up, don't they?

My shadow this week is of a horn cleat [what you use to tie up a boat at the dock]

Hope your weekend has treated you well.

  6. Lovely photo..is it Lalique? Please can I see the fish too? ( I have a small clear glass bird with a textured tail and if the sun shines on the tail it breaks up beautifully coming through the body of the bird)

  7. Sylvia K - Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. I've left it on the window sill just to catch the sun!

Magical Mystical Teacher - Exactly. Nice poem, thank you.

Martin H. - It seems obvious to put it where it catches the light. But, thinking about it, I can't remember where it used to be!

HOOTIN' ANNI - Glad you liked it, the colour makes a difference to it, I think. Much enjoyed your picture as well.

    Tatjana Parkacheva - Thank you.

Hey Harriet - Glad you liked it, I took this with Shadow Shot Sunday in mind.

Frances - No, it's not Lalique. There's a mark on the base of the fish to show where a sticker once was, but other than that, there's nothing. Click on the link to see the fish!

bad penny - Thank you, I just enjoyed the colours in it.

savethephotos - Thank you, I googled Sabino glass, and you're absolutely right! Of course, then my wife pointed out that it's signed at the bottom! All these years, and I'd never seen that before... DOH!!!!!
