Shadow Shot Sunday #164

This is my old primary school. I took this to e-mail to an old friend who now lives away from the area, and it was only afterwards that I noticed the shadows of the tree branches. They look a little like bony fingers, or perhaps that's just me!

By the way, this was taken in January; it wasn't as warm as it looks!

This is a Shadow Shot Sunday post.

  1. Ha! They do look like bony fingers! I need to revisit my old primary school to see how much it's changed over the years :)

  2. I'm sure your friend appreciated the photograph, bony-fingered tree and all!

    SHADOW DANCE

    Shadows here and shadows there,
    Shadows, shadows everywhere!
    Shadows left and shadows right;
    Shadows dancing through the night!
    Shadows crouching on the wall;
    Shadows spring and shadows fall
    On the unsuspecting guest,
    Who thought shadows offered rest!

  4. Hey Harriet - I'm glad you can see it as well! This one's changed all right; when I was there this was the new building!

    Magical Mystical Teacher - Yes, he liked the photos. Probably more than he enjoyed the school! Nice poem, especially the last two lines...

    Joan - Doesn't always do to go back, Joan. The reason I took this was that part of the school is being demolished. This part is being kept though.

    Thank you for your comments.

  5. I love to go back to my old hometown and as I go up and down the streets I like to recall who lived in each house. Of course we knew them all then. Don't know any of them now. I agree the shadow looks like fingers reaching out. Very nice shot.

  7. I like the bony fingers. Was it a chilly morning or evening when the photo was taken?

  9. They do indeed resemble bony fingers... very Tim Burton-esque if I may say so.

  10. Tatjana Parkacheva - Thank you.

    (Queenmothermamaw) Peggy - I know what you mean. Mind you, the school was several mile away from my home.

    TICKLEBEAR - Funnily enough, all the teachers were taller then as well! We had a playground to run around in; it seemed enormous at the time!

    Kara - I took the photo on the 30th January, at 5.15pm. As I remember, it was pretty cold. I suffer for my art.....

    Annie (Lady M)x - Thanks Annie, not as spooky as the nuns that used to teach us....

    Steve - I wish I could pretend it was deliberate...
